The letter on the card has to match the job. A 1A is not automatically a 1C.
Class 1A covers unarmed guarding — static posts, patrols and a lot of commercial work. Class 1B is bodyguard work. Class 1C is crowd controller, which is what licensed venues and many events actually need. Class 1D is guard dog handler. Class 1E is cash-in-transit. Class 1F is armed guard.
OnGuard only deploys the subclass the brief needs. A hotel door is 1C. A construction gate at night is usually 1A. We do not currently supply dog teams; a 1A card never authorises dog work.
Class 2 licences cover consulting, selling or installing equipment, locksmithing and related work. If someone is controlling access or a crowd in NSW, ask for Class 1 — not a sales story.
